CTS-V Wagon Photos
The Wagon has yet to die and Cadillac offers of the best, with the CTS-V Wagon. The CTS-V Wagon is Cadillacs answer to those looking for additional seats and additional power, without having to step up to an SUV or popular crossover. Without a doubt the CTS-V Wagon focuses on a specific niche market, so quit squinting in pain and take time to appreciate what Cadillac is doing to explore new markets
First the Cadillac CTS-V Wagon gets it's power train from the CTS-V, along with chassis & various design cues. Most notably first time viewers of this pumped up Wagon will notice the wide mouth wire-mesh bumper. The raked lines from the square jaw of the CTS-V Wagon continue along the profile & culminate with the rear bumper & matchless spoiler. The flashy design elements aren't for none, what lurks under the hood is as matchless & deserving of wild looks.
Power comes to the rear wheels via a 6.2 liter V8 super charged engine, capable of delivering over 550 horsepower. To keep things fun Cadillac offers either a 6 speed manual transmission or an automatic. Slowing the horses down will be over sized Brembo brakes and grip delivered by 19″ Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 performance tires. The huge tires and flashy rims look right at home on the long Wagon, hunched just enough to deliver usable power, along with Cadillac’s ride dampening system.
Worthy of a Wagon name, the CTS-V also sports a whopping 25.4 cubic feet of space behind the rear seats, able to expanding to 58 cubic feet when the seats are locked down. To put this in point of view, the 2010 Cadillac Escalade SUV offers 60.3 cubic feet with the 3rd row seats removed. The CTS-V Wagon comes standard with a power assisted rear gate and optional sun roof.
Industry specialists are skeptical of Cadillac and feel the niche is small to devote resources to a performance Wagon. Where most vehicles featured at last week's New York Auto Show were looking to show off efficiency, Cadillac select to feature power wrapped in an unpopular skin. Despite the shortage of interest in the Wagon design, nobody was upset at the huge power, so possibly Cadillac will find buyers looking to fill the void left by the Dodge Magnum. Potential buyers ought to expect a cost tag above the 2010 Cadillac CTS-V sedan of $62,020.
